Thigpen to speak at New Hanover County Democratic meeting
Wilmington, NC—On Monday, January 27, Jason Thigpen, Democratic candidate for Congress in North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District, will speak to New Hanover County Democrats at their monthly meeting at UNCW’s Morton Hall, Room 100.
“Americans should come first, not special interests and multinational corporations,” said Thigpen. “We must get behind American small business by lowering their taxes while reducing the tax loopholes for big corporations. In addition, I will work for an increase in the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour, job training to help get people back to work and continued support for folks who are still looking for work.”
Jason Thigpen is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District. A combat-wounded Veteran, and recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Thigpen has been instrumental in advocating for legislative change in multiple states as well as federally to ensure the rights and benefits of our nations’ veterans and military families. He grew up in Wilmington and currently resides with his wife and family in Holly Ridge.
